Sidbury & Associates was established in 1996 in Pensacola, FL offering small business solutions in accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation and planning, and consulting services.  In 2008, we opened our second office in Punta Gorda, FL to continue our tradition of offering high quality services with a personal touch.

Our Founders

James E. Sidbury, founder of Sidbury & Associates is a graduate of the University of West Florida.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from UWF.  In addition, Mr. Sidbury studied Mergers and Acquisitions at the Wharton School of Business  at the University of Pennsylvania receiving a certificate from that institution.  Mr. Sidbury has completed numerous seminars including the University of North Carolina’s Corporate Strategic Planning Seminar.  He has served as a consultant to both public and privately held corporations and businesses.  His experience includes over 25 years working with a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, engineering services, environmental, forest products, pulp and paper, municipal government, medical practices, law firms, and family owned businesses.  He has written numerous business plans, provided due diligence studies and consulting services to businesses throughout the United States. 

Emily S. Lewis joined Sidbury & Associates in 2008 as a partner.  Emily is a graduate of the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration specializing in Finance and Human Resources Management.  In addition Ms. Lewis holds a Masters in Public Administration from Hodges University.  Ms. Lewis has worked in a diverse range of industries including both the public and private sector.  Ms. Lewis is an expert in the fields of human resource management, operational management and efficiency, financial solutions, strategic planning and organizational development.  Ms. Lewis is very active in the community serving on several non-profit boards including the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, the Charlotte Local Education Foundation and the Healthy Start Coalition of Charlotte County.  She is a graduate of the Leadership Charlotte class of 2007.  Ms. Lewis was recently recognized as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Southwest Florida by Gulfshore Business Magazine and has been named as a top 5 finalist for Child Advocate of the Year by Children’s Home Society of Southwest Florida.
